Must-Have Feature Alert: Mandatory Content Section Blocks in Oracle Recruiting Cloud 24C 🎉

Hello, everyone! We are thrilled to unveil an eagerly awaited feature in the Oracle Recruiting Cloud’s 24C version. This update is designed to enhance your hiring process by ensuring you gather all the necessary information from external candidates. Let’s dive into the details! 🌟

Mandatory Content Section Blocks

You can now set content section type blocks as mandatory. This ensures that external candidates provide crucial information during the application process. This new feature applies to two types of blocks:

  • Profile (Education, Experience, Licenses, Languages, and Skills)
  • Timeline

This feature is supported in all application flow types: Apply, Event, Request Information, and Talent Community.

Why is this feature important?

  • Ensures completeness of candidate information
  • Streamlines the recruitment process
  • Improves data consistency and quality

Steps to Enable This Feature

Enabling this feature is a breeze! Just follow these simple steps in the apply flow configuration:

  • Edit a block and select the new “Block required” checkbox.
    • Click Save

Once saved, the block displays a required symbol, indicating candidates must provide at least one piece of information in that block. If the block is a timeline, candidates need to add at least one experience and one education entry.

    Real-World Scenarios

This much-awaited feature has been in high demand by many customers. In the current version, users lack the option to make an entire block mandatory.

For example, when creating a requisition for campus hiring, you can make the fields within the blocks for Education, Experience, Licenses, Languages, and Skills mandatory, but you couldn’t enforce that the entire block itself be filled. This meant that fields would only be mandatory if the external candidate chose to add something within the block, leading to incomplete applications. 📝

    Scenario 1: Campus Hiring

For campus recruitment, having a complete educational background is critical. With this feature, you can ensure that candidates provide their educational details, preventing incomplete applications and making the screening process more efficient.

    Scenario 2: Professional Licensing

In industries like healthcare and engineering, specific licenses are often required. By making the license block mandatory, you can ensure that only qualified candidates proceed, thereby speeding up the hiring process and ensuring compliance.

    Scenario 3: Multilingual Positions

For roles requiring proficiency in multiple languages, knowing a candidate’s language skills upfront is crucial. Making the Languages block mandatory ensures you capture this essential information, making your talent pool more relevant and targeted.

    Benefits of This Feature

Comprehensive Applications: Ensures all necessary details are captured.

Streamlined Process: Reduces back-and-forth communication with candidates.

Improved Decision-Making: Provides a complete picture of candidate qualifications.

We hope this new feature will make your recruiting process more efficient and effective. Try it out and see the difference it makes! 😊
