Still Using the Old Fusion Home Page? Here’s Why Home with Ask Oracle Changes Everything

An illustration promoting Oracle's new home page, featuring a man interacting with a friendly robot assistant, alongside a digital interface showcasing options like 'Me', 'My Team', and 'Procurement'. The background includes clouds and buildings, emphasizing an upgrade theme.

Introduction

Let’s be honest.

Many Fusion users do not struggle with the system itself. They struggle with finding the right page quickly.

Too many clicks.
Too much menu hunting.
Too much remembering where things sit.

That is why Home with Ask Oracle feels like a meaningful change.

It gives Oracle Fusion a smarter home page experience built around:

  • Quick search
  • Guided suggestions
  • Recent activity
  • Easier navigation

What Is Home with Ask Oracle?

Home with Ask Oracle is a newer Fusion home page experience designed to help users reach what they need faster.

Instead of depending only on tiles and menus, users can:

  • search for tasks and pages
  • get helpful suggestions
  • open recent destinations quickly
  • explore through a product map

In simple words, it makes the home page feel less static and more helpful.

Why This Feels Like a Real Upgrade

This feature looks simple at first, but the real value shows up in day-to-day use.

For end users

  • fewer clicks
  • less time wasted searching
  • easier navigation for occasional users
  • a more confident experience inside Fusion

For consultants

  • easier to position as a user adoption improvement
  • useful in Redwood discussions
  • helps reduce navigation-related complaints
  • gives customers a more modern first-screen experience

That is why this feels bigger than just a visual refresh.

Home with Ask Oracle vs News Feed

Most customers already know the News Feed layout.

The difference is easy to understand.

News Feed

  • familiar layout
  • tile-based navigation
  • comfortable for existing users

Home with Ask Oracle

  • more search-led
  • more guided
  • cleaner and more modern
  • better for users who want faster discovery

So this is not about saying the old layout is bad.

It is about choosing a home page experience that feels easier for the user base.

Steps to Enable Home with Ask Oracle

This is the part consultants will care about most.

1. Create a sandbox

Create a sandbox and make sure Appearance is included.

2. Open Appearance

Go to the sandbox tools and open Appearance.

3. Create or edit a Redwood theme

Use a Redwood theme and select Home with Ask Oracle as the home page layout.

4. Apply the theme

Save and apply the theme inside the sandbox.

5. Validate the home page

Click the Home icon and confirm the page opens correctly.

6. Publish the sandbox

Once everything looks good, publish the changes.

If the Home Page Opens Blank

This is one practical check you should not skip.

If the page appears blank after enablement, start with:

  • checking the scheduled processes
  • validating search service readiness
  • reviewing the logs
  • running the Ask Oracle indexing process if required
  • testing the page again

So the job does not end at enablement.

Make sure the actual experience is working properly too.

My Take

I would not present this feature as just a new home page.

I would show it as a better way to navigate Fusion.

That is where the real value sits.

For users, it can reduce confusion.
For consultants, it can improve adoption conversations.
For customers, it can make Fusion feel smarter from the very first screen.

And that is exactly why Home with Ask Oracle deserves attention.
