ORC 26C Just Made Candidate Creation Faster: Upload Resumes and Let AI Do the First Draft!

An illustration of a resume uploading process featuring an AI tool for parsing and structuring candidate data. The left side shows a pile of resumes with an upload button, while the right side displays a list of created candidate profiles with names and job titles.

Introduction

Recruiters often receive resumes from multiple channels, hiring managers, vendors, walk in drives, referrals, and job fairs.

The real challenge starts when each resume has to be manually converted into a candidate profile. For high volume hiring, this becomes repetitive, time consuming, and sometimes error prone.

Oracle Recruiting Cloud 26C introduces a simple but useful Redwood feature: Bulk Candidate Creation by Uploading Resumes.

With this feature, recruiters can upload multiple resumes and allow Oracle to extract candidate information using an AI agent. The extracted details are then available for review on the candidate details page once the candidate is created.

Business Requirement

Many recruitment teams need a faster way to create candidate profiles when resumes are received outside the standard career site application process.

For example:

✅ A hiring manager shares multiple resumes for urgent hiring
✅ A vendor sends shortlisted profiles by email
✅ HR collects resumes during a walk in recruitment drive
✅ Recruiters want to create a candidate pool from existing resumes

Instead of creating each candidate manually, recruiters can now upload resumes and let the system do the initial candidate creation work.

What Is New in 26C?

In the Redwood experience, recruiters can use the Create Candidate action and upload multiple resume attachments.

Oracle parses the resumes, extracts the candidate information, and populates the details for recruiter review.

Key Points to Remember

  1. Bulk candidate creation uses an AI agent.
  2. You can upload a maximum of 10 resume attachments.
  3. To upload more than 10 resumes, you need to upload the resumes as a zip file.
  4. The zip file cannot exceed 25 MB.
  5. You can upload only 1 zip file at a time.
  6. You cannot upload a zip file along with other resume attachments.
  7. Recruiters should review the extracted candidate details after creation.

Real World Scenarios

Walk In Recruitment Drive

During a walk in drive, HR may collect many resumes in a short time. This feature helps recruiters quickly create candidate records instead of entering each profile manually.

Vendor Shared Profiles

When a staffing vendor shares multiple resumes, recruiters can upload the files, review the parsed candidate details, and continue with the screening process.

Talent Pool Creation

Recruiters can use existing resume banks to create candidate profiles and build a searchable talent pool for future hiring needs.

Steps to Enable and Configure

To enable bulk candidate creation using resumes, set the site profile value to Y for the below profile option:

ORA_IRC_BULK_CREATE_CANDIDATE_USING_RESUME

Navigation:

  1. Go to Settings and Actions.
  2. Select Setup and Maintenance.
  3. Search for Manage Administrator Profile Values.
  4. Search for the profile option code:
    ORA_IRC_BULK_CREATE_CANDIDATE_USING_RESUME
  5. Set the profile value to Y.
  6. Click Save.

Redwood and Access Requirement

This feature is available in the Redwood experience. The required Recruiting Redwood profile options must be enabled.

Users also need the below privilege to use the Create Candidate action:

Create or Update Candidate
Privilege Code: IRC_CREATE_OR_UPDATE_CANDIDATE

Consultant Note

Before enabling this feature for wider usage, test it with different resume formats and validate how accurately the details are extracted.

Also check duplicate candidate behaviour, recruiter security access, zip file upload, and file size restrictions during SIT or UAT.

Business Benefit

The main business benefit is faster candidate creation.

Recruiters can reduce manual data entry, create candidate profiles quickly, and spend more time on screening, communication, and candidate engagement.

Conclusion

The 26C Bulk Candidate Creation by Uploading Resumes feature is a small but practical enhancement in Oracle Recruiting Cloud.

It helps recruiters create candidates faster by using AI assisted resume parsing in the Redwood experience.

For customers handling walk in drives, vendor profiles, referrals, or high volume hiring, this feature can bring real productivity improvement.
