Want to See How Your Oracle Journeys Are Built? Download This Ready-to-Use Report!

Papercraft illustration of Oracle HCM Journey task types being exported into a structured report

How many times have you opened an Oracle HCM Journey template, moved through every task and copied the setup into a spreadsheet? It works, but it is slow, repetitive and easy to miss a field.

That is why I created this ready-to-use Oracle HCM Journey Setup Report. It exports key Journey and task configuration into one structured Excel file, so you can review the design without opening each Journey individually.

You can run the report for a specific Journey name, Journey type or Journey status, depending on what you want to review.

Why this report is useful

Journey configuration is rarely limited to a name and a few tasks. A single template can contain different task types, performers, durations, dependencies, content, attachments and notifications. Reviewing all of this manually takes time, especially when you need the information for documentation, testing or support.

  • Review key Journey setup in one place.
  • Reduce the effort required for implementation documentation.
  • Identify task sequencing, performer or dependency issues more quickly.
  • Compare configuration across environments using exported files.
  • Share a readable setup extract with functional and technical teams.

Choose exactly what you want to export

The report parameters help you narrow the output instead of downloading every Journey in the system.

  • Journey Name: Export one selected Journey or a specific group of Journeys.
  • Journey Type: Focus on the category or type relevant to your review.
  • Journey Status: Review active, inactive or other available status values.

What the Excel report can show

The output brings key configuration fields together in a review-friendly format. The exact values returned will depend on your setup and data access.

Journey details

  • Journey or template name and identifying details
  • Journey type or category
  • Journey status and relevant date information
  • Description and other available setup attributes

  • Allocation-related configuration
  • Task duration and timing information
  • Task sequence and dependency setup
  • Required or optional task indicators

  • Performer and responsibility details
  • Dependencies, duration and completion requirements
  • Details supporting common task types such as Application, Embedded Application, External URL, Report, Document, Video, Questionnaire, Configurable Form, Electronic Signature, Advanced Task and Checklist

Task content and communication

  • Other fields available in the report output

Practical ways to use the report

  • Design reviews: Review the complete task flow with functional stakeholders.
  • Implementation documentation: Create a reusable configuration reference without copying each screen manually.
  • Configuration audits: Check whether performers, dependencies, durations and notifications are set as expected.
  • Troubleshooting: Compare a working Journey with one that behaves differently.
  • Environment comparison: Export the same Journey from two environments and compare the files.
  • Impact analysis: Understand which tasks may be affected before changing a Journey.
  • Knowledge transfer: Give support teams a structured view of the setup.

What this report does not replace

  • It is a setup extract, not an employee progress or Journey activity report.
  • It does not migrate Journey configuration between environments.
  • It does not replace functional validation, security review or regression testing.

Before using the report

  • Import the catalogue object into a non-production environment using your normal Oracle Analytics catalogue migration process.
  • Validate the parameters and columns against a known Journey before wider use.
  • Confirm that the report respects the roles and data access expected in your environment.
  • Mask client-specific information before sharing screenshots or extracts outside the project.
