Exploring the New REDWOOD EXPERIENCE FOR JOURNEY CONSOLE in Oracle 24B

Hello Oracle enthusiasts and professionals! Today, we’re diving into an exciting enhancement introduced in Oracle’s 24B version that is set to elevate the user experience to new heights: the Redwood Experience for Journey Console. This feature brings a fresh, modern interface and a host of improvements designed to streamline processes for Admin users. So, let’s break it down, and I’ll guide you through where to place the visuals for a clearer understanding.

Introducing the Redwood Journey Console

The latest Journey Console page is a game-changer, developed using the Redwood toolset and Visual Builder Studio (VBS). This redesign is not just about aesthetics; it’s about providing a seamless, intuitive experience for managing Oracle applications. It’s crafted for Admin users, allowing for efficient navigation and operation within the platform.

How to Access

Accessing the new Journey Console is straightforward. Admin users can find it by selecting the Journey Console quick action available under My Client Groups > Journeys Setup. It’s a direct path to enhanced productivity and a testament to Oracle’s commitment to user-centric design.

What’s New?

  • User Experience: The Redwood Journey Console page is built from the ground up to offer a unique experience. It replaces the existing View Console tab on the Checklist Templates page, streamlining the interface and making it more intuitive.
  • Detailed Insights: On this page, you can view detailed information about a specific person’s assigned journey, including:
    • Journey allocation method (automatic, manual, scheduled, mass, or person data change)
    • Journey processing status (completed, error, or pending)
    • Reason for a journey’s processing status if it’s an error or pending
  • Efficiency and Performance: Expect fewer clicks and better performance. The design ethos behind this page is all about enhancing cohesiveness and efficiency throughout the application.

Steps to Enable & Access Requirements

Enabling the Feature

To make the most of this new feature, it’s necessary to enable journeys within your system. This step ensures that you’re ready to leverage all the capabilities of the Redwood Journey Console.

Accessing the Console

The table below outlines the predefined role necessary to access this feature, including both the aggregate and functional privileges:

  • Job Role: Human Capital Management Application Administrator
  • Aggregate Privilege Name: Access Journey Console
  • Aggregate Privilege Code: ORA_PER_ACCESS_JOURNEY_CONSOLE
  • Function Privilege Name: Access Journey Console
  • Function Privilege Code: PER_ACCESS_JOURNEY_CONSOLE

For those using predefined roles, no additional action is required. However, if you’ve customized these roles, you’ll need to incorporate the aggregate privileges mentioned above into your custom roles to access the new feature.
