A candidate receives an interview email, but the preparation guide is missing. One recruiter remembers to attach it manually; another does not. Meanwhile, the recruiting administrator has updated the email wording and needs to know which version is ready to use.
Oracle Recruiting 26D brings these activities closer together. The new Redwood Recruiting Notification Library lets administrators manage candidate notification content and its versions. They can also add files to email notification templates, so those files appear when recruiters use the templates and are included in automated notifications that use them.
What is the Recruiting Notification Library?
Think of it as the administrator’s workspace for candidate notification content. Instead of looking for a notification among other types of content, an administrator can open a dedicated library, find the relevant item, update its message and manage its versions.

What can an administrator do there?
- Find content: Search, filter and sort notification items.
- Prepare content: Create, edit, copy and translate items. Insert supported tokens into message content.
- Manage changes: Create, preview, copy and activate versions, or deactivate content when appropriate.
- Prepare emails: Add attachments to notification content that has an email section.
Oracle lists Candidate Job Application Notification, Candidate Opt-out Notification and Interview Canceled Notification among the notification templates in the library.

Picture a busy university recruitment team
The team sends a large number of candidate communications. Here are three ways the library could help them:
| Situation | How the team could use the library |
|---|---|
| An interview guide changes | Prepare and review a new notification version, then activate it when ready. Add the current guide to the email section. |
| Candidates need different languages | Manage translated notification content and review the appropriate message before use. |
| A recruiter sends a standard email | Select the template, review its populated attachment, and add a file specific to that candidate if needed. |
These are example workflows built around the capabilities Oracle describes. The exact categories, translations and sending behaviour your team uses should be tested in your own environment.
The useful distinction is that the administrator maintains reusable content, while the recruiter reviews the message being sent. A template attachment saves the recruiter from searching for the same standard document each time, while still allowing an additional attachment for a specific email.
How do you start using the Redwood library?
- Go to Setup and Maintenance > Search > Manage Administrator Profile Values.
- Set
ORA_IRC_CONTENT_AND_NOTIFICATION_LIBRARY_REDWOOD_ENABLEDtoY. - Open Recruiting and Candidate Experience Management > Recruiting Notification Library.
- Create a content item. Choose its notification category and visibility, then enter the message content.
- Save it as a draft if it needs further review, or save and activate it when ready. Open an existing item to manage its versions.
The profile option defaults to N. With that value, the Recruiting Notification Library appears in the responsive interface rather than Redwood. A user needs the Manage Recruiting Notification Library privilege (IRC_MANAGE_RECRUITING_NOTIFICATIONS_LIBRARY_PRIV) to manage content; the Recruiting Administrator role includes it.
Optional search settings
If your administrators prefer “Starts with” searches, Oracle provides two optional profile options. Set ORA_IRC_LOV_SEARCH_NOTIF_LIBRARY_CATEGORY_STARTSWITH to Y for notification categories and ORA_IRC_LOV_SEARCH_NOTIF_LIBRARY_TOKEN_STARTSWITH to Y for tokens.
How do attachments move from the template to the email?
Suppose the team has an interview preparation PDF that should accompany a candidate email.
- An administrator opens a notification content item with an email section in the Redwood Recruiting Notification Library and uploads the PDF.
- A recruiter selects that template through Compose or Send Message.
- The recruiter sees the template attachment with the message and can preview or download it before sending. They can also add their own attachment.
- If an automated notification uses a template containing attachments, those attachments are included there too.

A recruiter can remove an attachment supplied by the template from the Compose or Send Message window only with IRC_UPDATE_EMAIL_CREATED_FROM_TEMPLATE_PRIV. The message body and attachments together must fit the maximum email size set in Recruiting Messaging Configuration > Additional Email Settings.
The library change that needs attention
The existing Recruiting Content Library does not disappear. It continues to contain notification and other templates, but it is not available in the Redwood experience. Oracle specifically notes that changes to notification content made in the existing Recruiting Content Library are not reflected in the Recruiting Notification Library.
That matters during a rollout. If one administrator updates notification content in the responsive interface while another works in Redwood, they should not assume both libraries will show the same change. Oracle recommends reviewing notification content after enabling Redwood, using the Redwood experience for Send Message and Compose, and avoiding further notification content changes in the responsive interface once Redwood is enabled.
What should you test?
Before using the setup for candidate communications, pick one real notification and follow it from start to finish:
- Find its content item in the Redwood library and review the message, tokens, visibility and versions.
- Add a test attachment to its email section, then preview and activate the intended content.
- Select the template in Compose or Send Message. Confirm that the correct attachment appears and send a test email.
- If that notification is sent automatically in your process, test that route as well.
- Check the received email and attachment, and confirm the total email size is within your configured limit.
This is a suggested test sequence based on Oracle’s documented features. It is especially useful for teams moving their notification administration to Redwood.
Final thoughts
The interesting part of 26D is more than a new page. An administrator can find candidate notification content, prepare a version, manage translations and attach a standard file in the Redwood library. When a recruiter uses an email template, that file is ready to review with the message. For recruiting teams sending the same communications every day, that is a practical change worth testing.
