What if your recruiting system instantly told you how well a candidate matches a job requisition, based on their resume? Oracle Recruiting Cloud is now making that happen using Generative AI! 🧠

With the introduction of Job Application AI Ratings in 25B and the exciting enhancements in 25C, recruiters now have powerful new ways to assess candidate fit, prioritise applications, and streamline shortlisting, all within the Redwood Experience.

🔍 Redwood Experience: Job Application AI Rating (25B)

Let’s begin with what was introduced in the 25B update 👇

📊 View AI-Generated Candidate Scores

Recruiters can now display AI-generated ratings for each candidate directly in the Job Applications grid view.

You’ll need to add the Applicant Ratings category, which includes:

  • Education Rating
  • Experience Rating
  • Skill Rating
  • Profile Rating

These scores are calculated using Generative AI, which compares the candidate’s profile (from resume or fields) with the job requisition’s criteria.

⚙️ Triggering the AI Rating Calculation

Ratings can be calculated in two ways:

  1. Manually – Select one or more applications and run the action:
    Calculate Candidate Matching Rating
  2. Automatically – Admins can add this action to the Candidate Selection Process so that scores are triggered based on a candidate’s movement between phases.

Statuses include:

  • ✅ Scoring in progress
  • ❌ Not scored
  • ⚠ No data for scoring

🔧 Enabling the Feature

You need to enable two profile options for this feature to work:

  • ORA_IRC_APPLICANT_AI_SCORES_FEATURE_ENABLED → Enables the AI Rating
  • ORA_IRC_AUTO_COMPUTE_JA_SCORES_ON_CREATION → Auto-scores during application creation

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance > Manage Administrator Profile Values
  2. Search the profile option code and set the value to Y
  3. Save and close

🚀 What’s New in 25C: Enhancements to Job Application AI Rating

Now that you know the base functionality, let’s explore what 25C adds to the game 💡

🧠 Resume Parsing Support

When candidates upload a resume with skills, experience, and education, the system now automatically parses it and uses that data to calculate the ratings.

This is a huge step forward, especially for external applicants who rely heavily on resume submissions.

🧵 Clickable Rating Bars with Generative AI Summary

You can now click on any of the rating bars, and a Profile Summary Panel opens up, powered by Generative AI.

This summary shows a consolidated view of the candidate’s qualifications, extracted from their resume.

🔍 New Filters for AI Ratings

Recruiters can now filter applications using new options under the Application Rating filter section. This makes it easier to narrow down high scorers quickly.

🧮 Custom Weight Configuration

Admins now have fine-grained control over how scores are calculated.

In the new AI Rating section under:

Setup and Maintenance > Enterprise Recruiting and Candidate Experience Information

you can define the importance (weights) for:

  • Education
  • Skills
  • Experience

The total must equal 1.

🔄 Example Configurations

🎯 Example 1: Prioritise Skills Only

  • Education: 0.0
  • Skills: 1.0
  • Experience: 0.0
