Enhance Workforce Structure Management with New Legal Employer Association Features in Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Resources

Introduction

The latest update to the Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Resources module brings powerful new features that enhance the management of your Workforce Structures. You can now associate multiple legal employers with both jobs and departments, providing better filtering options and streamlining your HR processes. 🚀

These enhancements allow you to manage your workforce structures more efficiently, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and compliance requirements.

Common Functionalities for Jobs and Departments

Oracle’s new features provide a unified approach to managing legal employer associations across both jobs and departments:

  • Associate Multiple Legal Employers: Use extensible flexfields (EFF) contexts Legal Employers That Use This Job and Legal Employers That Share This Department o associate multiple legal employers with a job or department.
  • Flexible Associations: You can associate the same legal employer with different jobs or departments, but not the same employer twice with the same job or department.
  • Deletion and Duplication: Legal employer-job and legal employer-department associations can be deleted or copied when duplicating a job or department.
  • Visibility of Legal Employers: Both active and inactive legal employers appear in the list, sorted in ascending order.
  • Migrating Associations: These associations are migrated when you transfer configurations using the Functional Setup Manager (FSM) export/import functionality.
  • REST API Support: The feature supports REST APIs for filtering, available on Redwood pages.

Steps to Enable Legal Employer Association for Jobs and Departments

To enable these features:

  1. Go to My Client Groups > Quick Actions > Workforce Structures.
  2. Choose the task for either Job Details (for jobs) or Manage Departments (for departments).
  3. Click +Add to create a new job or department.
  4. For jobs, select Additional Info on the questionnaire page and click Continue.
  5. Enter the required details and navigate to the Additional Info section (for jobs) or the main page (for departments).
  6. Click Add in the relevant section to associate legal employers.
  7. Click Submit.

Specific Features for Jobs

For jobs, the following functionalities are available:

  • Job Filtering: Initially, jobs are filtered based on business unit-set mapping. This update further refines filtering by adding a layer for legal employers.
  • HCM Data Loader (HDL) Support: Use HDL to bulk associate legal employers with jobs.
  • REST API Parameter: A new LegalEmployerId parameter is included in the findByWord finder for jobs.

Tips for Jobs:

  • At least one legal employer must be associated with a job for filtering.
  • Job filtering by legal employer is available only on Redwood pages, designed for REST List of Values (LOVs).

Specific Features for Departments

For departments, here are the unique functionalities:

  • Department Filtering: Departments are filtered by business unit-set mapping. Once fully implemented, this feature will further refine filtering by including legal employers.
  • HDL Support: Use HDL to bulk associate legal employers with departments.
  • REST API Parameter: An additional LegalEmployerId parameter is added in the departmentsLovV2 finder.

Tips for Departments:

  • At least one legal employer must be associated with a department for filtering.
  • Department filtering by legal employer is only available on Redwood pages as it utilizes REST LOVs.
