🚀 Introduction

Oracle Recruiting Cloud just got a sleek new look! If you’ve been wondering how to improve the candidate journey and make application forms more intuitive, 25B brings exciting news. From a modern UI revamp to smart error handling, your candidate experience is about to get a huge upgrade.

Whether you’re a recruiter, implementer, or HCM consultant, this update impacts you—and it’s worth diving into.

✨ What’s New in the Candidate Application Flow?

With Release 25B, Oracle has rolled out a refreshed user interface for external candidates. The update brings:

  • modern look and feel with consistent fonts, colours, padding, and margins
  • Responsive components that adapt beautifully across all device types
  • A more intuitive navigation flow—no more confusion jumping across pages

🔀 Smart Navigation: Multipage vs. Single Page

Oracle has reimagined how candidates navigate the application flow:

  • Multipage flows now show page numbers at the bottom (like a carousel-style navigation)
  • Single-page flows come with a side menu tracking field-by-field progress

This keeps candidates oriented and reduces form fatigue!

🧠 Enhanced Components for Better UX

Some field types are getting a usability makeover:

  1. List of Values (LOVs)
    • 10 or fewer options? They now appear as pills—clean, clickable, and easy to scan.
  2. Profile Content, National Identifiers, and Flexfields
    • Open inline when users click “Add”
    • Minimised view by default = less clutter
    • Candidates can add or cancel these sections easily

❗ Error Fixer Flow – A Life Saver!

No more submitting an application and wondering “What went wrong?”

  • Fixer Flow shows how many errors exist
  • “Go to Next Issue” button guides candidates to the exact problem area
  • Once all issues are resolved, it morphs into a Submit button

This smart flow reduces candidate drop-offs and helps ensure successful submissions.

🛑 Read-Only Blocks with Clarity

Some blocks like Address and Sensitive Personal Info are now read-only. Candidates will see a clear message explaining that only the recruiting team can update these fields.

This transparency reduces confusion and support queries.

⚙ Steps to Enable – Don’t Miss This!

If you didn’t enable the enhanced Address Block in 25A, here’s what to do before upgrading to 25B:

  1. Run the scheduled process:
ESS job to create index definition and perform initial ingest to OSCS
  2. Use the following in the Index Name to Reingest field:
    fa-hcm-irc-geohierarchies

🔧 Skipping this will break address blocks, blocking candidates from applying.

🧠 Tips & Considerations

  • If you’ve customised application flows (e.g., custom CSS), review your styles against the new layout
  • These changes might override or conflict with your current design

💡 Use Case

Before: Candidates abandon the application due to unclear errors or bulky form layouts
After 25B: Streamlined UI, contextual error fixes, and smart field expansion = higher completion rates ✅

✅ Conclusion

With 25B, Oracle Recruiting is no longer just powerful—it’s candidate-friendly and future-ready. Don’t wait for users to complain—upgrade with confidence, enable the right features, and prepare your flows for a smoother ride!
