Oracle Recruiting Cloud 25A introduces the Quick Move feature, a powerful tool that enables administrators to configure expected transitions in the candidate selection process. This feature improves efficiency by allowing recruiting users to move job applications swiftly to predefined states and phases. In this blog, we’ll dive into how to configure this feature, highlight its key benefits, and explore real-world use cases.
Understanding the Quick Move Feature
The Quick Move feature empowers administrators to:
- Define specific destinations for states within the candidate selection process.
- Allow users to bypass non-mandatory phases, subject to their permissions.
- Streamline the movement of job applications to the next expected phase or state.
Key Points to Note
- Valid Destination States:
- Non-terminal states of the current phase.
- Non-terminal states of an upcoming phase (even bypassing mandatory phases if configured).
- The first state of the Offer phase (Offer – To be Created).
- Excluded States:
- Terminal states such as:
- Withdrawn by Candidate
- Rejected by Employer
- Certain states in the Offer phase, including Draft, Pending Approval, Approved, etc.
- All states in the HR phase.
- Terminal states such as:
- Flexibility in Configuration:
- Quick Move destinations can be modified regardless of the selection process’s status (Draft, Active, Inactive).
- If no destination is defined, applications automatically move to the next active state without requiring comments.

- Set the actions to:
- Show Action: Enable the actions for recruiting users.
- Don’t Show Action: Disable the actions for recruiting users.
- Save your changes.

Use Cases for Quick Move
1. High-Volume Recruitment
- Scenario: A retail organisation is hiring seasonal workers. With hundreds of applications received daily, recruiters need a quick way to move candidates to the next phase (e.g., from Application Received to Phone Screening).
- Benefit: Quick Move allows recruiters to batch-process applications efficiently without navigating multiple menus.
2. Bypassing Non-Mandatory Phases
- Scenario: In an urgent hiring process, a candidate with exceptional qualifications is identified. The recruiter needs to move them directly from Initial Screening to Offer while bypassing Technical Interview.
- Benefit: Administrators can configure Quick Move to allow this transition while ensuring compliance with permissions.
3. Streamlining the Offer Process
- Scenario: For senior roles, recruiters need to move candidates directly to the Offer – To Be Created state after the final interview.
- Benefit: Quick Move speeds up the transition, helping close critical positions faster.
4. Error Correction in Candidate State
- Scenario: A candidate was accidentally marked as Rejected by Employer. The recruiter needs to quickly reinstate their application to the Interview phase.
- Benefit: Quick Move makes it easy to correct such errors without navigating back through the process manually.
5. Simplifying Internal Mobility
- Scenario: For internal job applications, an organisation skips early phases like Resume Screening since the employee’s profile is already in the system.
- Benefit: Quick Move allows transitions from Application Submitted directly to Manager Interview, saving time.
Tips and Best Practices
- Use Comments Strategically: Decide whether comments are necessary for Quick Moves based on your organisation’s requirements.
- Prepare for User Adoption: While administrators can configure Quick Move in this release, recruiting users will gain access in upcoming versions.
- Validate Configuration: Test the configurations in a sandbox environment before deploying to production.
Benefits of the Quick Move Feature
- Enhanced Efficiency: Reduce manual steps in moving applications across states.
- Improved Process Visibility: Guide recruiting users with predefined transitions.
- Customisation: Tailor the candidate selection process to align with organisational needs.
The Quick Move feature is a step forward in making Oracle Recruiting Cloud more intuitive and efficient. By leveraging this functionality, organisations can streamline their recruitment workflows, reduce time-to-hire, and enhance user experience. Stay tuned for future updates where recruiting users will gain more control over this feature!
